Review: Winter in Paradise

Winter in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand
Publisher: Penguin Random House • Publication Date: October 9, 2018

Elin Hilderbrand has always been an author that I feel like I need to read. A few years ago I read my first book by her, The Identicals, and I wasn’t the biggest fan, but I felt like I needed to give her another try. Since Winter in Paradise is the first in a series and had a decent rating, I thought it was a great place to start. I found the book to be okay, I think reading the reviews before borrowing the book made me think I’d be wowed by it. Will I read the other two books in the series? Yes, because the book ends on a cliff hanger, I need to know the truth, but I’m not sure if I’m jumping on the Elin Hilderbrand book train. I feel like I enjoy books by many authors like her, but I’m having a hard time getting into her books.

The parts of the story that focused on Irene, Huck and Maia I liked much more than when the story dealt with the love triangle of Ayers, Cash and Baker. I actually found myself skimming some of their chapters because I found then to be very immature and not invested in what happened to them.

Are you a fan of Elin Hilderbrand books? If so, which book is your favorite if I decide to give her books another try after I finish the Paradise series.
