Review: Summer at Firefly Beach

Summer at Firefly Beach by Jenny Hale
Publisher: Forever • Publication Date: June 2, 2020

Between my bookshelves and Kindle, I have a few Jenny Hale books sitting on them and I finally decided it was time to read one! With the weather starting to feel like summer, I thought this was the perfect one to start with.

Mourning the loss of her beloved Aunt Clara, Hallie and her family, plus her best friend Ben, head off to Firefly Beach to spend the summer with her uncle. Hallie’s mother and sister received their inheritance from her aunt with no strings attached, but her aunt wants Hallie to complete the bucket list she wrote at 12 in order to find out about her inheritance. As Hallie deals with things from her past and her family learns to move on from her aunt’s death, Hallie also has to come to terms with how she feels about Ben.

One thing I really liked about this book was it was more than just a romance book, it dealt with family members in their own way dealing with loss and life struggles. Hallie grows a lot throughout this book and I love the way Hale wrote about it. And Ben may be one of the sweetest guys you meet in a romance book. If you like Hallmark movies like I do or are looking for a perfect book to read on the beach, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

CW: Infertility, death
