The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox
As soon as fall hits, I’m ready for all the holiday reads and The Holiday Swap was the perfect book to kick off my reading with. Though it’s light on the Christmas talk, so it can really be perfect any time of the year when you want a little bit of holiday magic. With identical twins Charlie and Cass switching places for two weeks, it was sweet, funny, and heartfelt book.
I liked both of the sisters, and how swapping lives helped them see what they truly wanted to pursue in their own life. With Charlie being a TV host and used to living a fast-paced life, returning to her small hometown and working in her family’s bakery allowed her to not only slow down, but allowed her to form a relationship with Jake, the local firefighter. Cass who without question worked in her family’s bakery so Charlie could go off and have the spotlight, got to step outside of her comfort zone with pretending to be Charlie and try out new things. Jake and Miguel were great love interests for both of the sisters. I loved that the chapters alternated between both sister’s perspective and this book has a great supporting cast. I also liked that this was a closed door romance, I’m not a huge fan of steam when it comes to holiday books.
I can easily see this book being turned into a holiday movie and if you love a cute Hallmark movie, this book is for you!
