Review: Just Haven’t Met You Yet

Just Haven’t Met You Yet by Sophie Cousens

Like many, I loved This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens and couldn’t wait to read her newest book. Just Haven’t Met You Yet was a sweet book with a slow-burn romance and a great cast of characters. It was also a love letter to the island of Jersey, which after looking at photos I’d like to visit!

I thought Laura was a very relatable character and she had me laughing throughout the book. At times her journey to discover more about how her parents met is sad as the memories she has been told might not be so true, but in the process she gets to learn more about herself and connects with family she never knew. The banter between her and Ted, her cab driver turned tour guide turned possibly something more, is perfect, and I liked how they pushed each other to evaluate where they are in life and what they are looking for. Gerry, Ted’s father was hands down my favorite character in the book. And I loved the little callout to This Time Next Year in the first few pages.

Thank you to Putnam and NetGalley for an advance digital copy and for a gifted finished copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
